The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has reported 298 individuals who allegedly received the citizen's income, despite the presence of impediments.
The investigative activity was carried out, under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North and within the usual collaboration with INPS, by financiers of the Frattamaggiore Group who, through an accurate analysis aimed at verifying compliance with the requirements for the legitimate perception of the benefit, have identified hundreds of irregular applications presented by subjects resident in the northern area of the province of Naples.
In fact, it was found, for the period September 2020 – May 2021, that many applications included people who were the recipients of judicial orders that by law make the requirements for the Citizenship Income no longer valid.

The damage was quantified by the INPS of Afragola at approximately 2,5 million euros, while those responsible had their subsidies revoked and were reported to the Judicial Authority for fraud against the State.
Furthermore, from subsequent investigations into the individual positions, the Guardia di Finanza also identified 8 applicants who, in addition to having unduly received sums not due, even escaped from house arrest to reach tax assistance centers and submit applications for the RdC.
Emblematic is also what the Guardia di Finanza found at a tax assistance centre in Frattamaggiore, where they recovered the application of a person who, at the time he appeared to have submitted the application, was actually being held in prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The control activities demonstrate the commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in the action of contrasting any form of illicit activity to the detriment of national public spending, in order to prevent and repress all illicit activities that affect public resources intended for families in real need and most affected by the economic effects deriving from the current emergency.
