Naples: bins under Totò's house removed. The president of the Third Municipality of Naples, Ivo Poggiani, announces the start of a new batch of door-to-door collection in the Rione Sanità.
The departure of the new lot, obtained by Asia, will affect 3 thousand families and will affect the area of Cristallini and Santa Maria Antesecula, the street where Totò was born. Thus, the bins that were the protagonists of one of the images that, during the years of the waste crisis in Naples, went around the world and that portrayed them overflowing with garbage bags, will disappear.
"This is a small victory for the City Council," Poggiani states, "which brings 51% of the municipal area to door-to-door collection coverage. In times like these, when, due to Covid, Asia 's staffing, and consequently collection and street sweeping services, are slow and causing disruptions across the city, we are achieving one of the strategic objectives we had set ourselves. There's still a long way to go, but we're not giving up an inch," Poggiani concludes.
