We are in the era of the internet, computers, smartphones and all the electronic devices that technology makes available to us, in relation to this we also hear a lot of talk about IP address But perhaps not everyone actually knows what it is. An IP address is a numeric code used by all the devices we know—computers, servers, printers, modems, smartphones—and is necessary for browsing the internet and communicating on a local network. It's essential for correctly transmitting information, as well as receiving it. There are different types of IP addresses; but the most widely used version is the one composed of four series of numbers, separated by periods. This is the IPv4 type.

Anonymous Browsing and Online Browsing

An IP address can be public or private. A public address is visible and reachable by all hosts on the internet. A private IP address, on the other hand, is used to identify a device connected to a local network. Private IP addresses therefore have limitations and cannot be used to access the internet. Furthermore, IP addresses can be dynamic or static. Dynamic IPs are primarily used for normal online browsing. Dynamic IPs, on the other hand, guarantee greater privacy protection for internet users by allowing them to browse completely anonymously. This method essentially classifies us, like our home address or date of birth. An IP address is the key to understanding our browsing habits.

Locate devices

In some cases, we may need to know our IP address; for example, to resolve a navigation or network connection issue, or to join a whitelist. Or even when we encounter problems accessing a website, or to determine precisely whether we have a dynamic or static IP address. Knowing your IP address is useful for many things. IP address information is public and is used by internet providers to offer personalized content, such as advertisements and any type of website we wish to visit. In practice, the IP address is the tool used to connect any device to the internet, which is assigned an IP address. This association allows us to identify your device, determine its host name, and locate it using two different types of protocols. Furthermore, the IP address is also useful for geolocation, which allows us to locate a computer or mobile device connected to the internet.

Acquire new information every day

This tracking system works within a radius of a few kilometers, using a map. It's based on public databases that can reveal longitude and latitude. Finally, an area is determined within which the searched device will be displayed. The IP address, like many other things related to technological evolution and the digitalization of communication media, is part of our daily lives and our cultural heritage. Since we are all able to acquire new information every day regarding increasingly updated and efficient communication methods and mobile devices, we are increasingly aware of this.
