San Giorgio a Cremano. Confiscated assets. Another property taken from organized crime in via Don Morosini was handed over to a poor family.
The family was selected, as required by law, from the list of those eligible for public housing. Three properties have been confiscated so far, and the administration led by the Mayor Giorgio Zinno, delivered to families in difficulty who requested it.
A sign of the planning that the administration has been implementing for some time against housing hardship and in support of the weaker groups. Interventions that are in addition to all the measures that, in agreement with the Councilor for Social Policies, Giuseppe Giordano, have been put in place to provide concrete help to citizens in difficulty. The family that will be able to live in a new home, after years of waiting in temporary accommodation, is made up of 5 people, three adults and two minors.

“Every time we deliver an apartment to someone in need it is always a thrill – says Mayor Giorgio Zinno – as we contribute to giving dignity and security to our fellow citizens and to restoring hope, after years of difficulty”.

The administration of San Giorgio a Cremano has made a huge effort on the confiscated assets in recent years, also considering the high symbolic and social value that such actions have for the entire community. A work that is producing important results for the community.
"The reuse of these goods in fact represents a good administrative practice - adds Giuseppe Giordano - but above all it allows us to support people in difficulty and also to look at the needs of the territory. All this is possible thanks to teamwork aimed at helping fellow citizens and restoring legality, for which I also thank the president of the Social Policies Commission, Antonio Esposito".
The actions on confiscated assets are not only aimed at families experiencing housing emergencies, but also at the various social realities of our territory. After some slowdown due to the pandemic, in about a month the largest Anti-Violence Center in the Vesuvian area will be inaugurated, which will be located in via Cappiello, precisely in apartments confiscated from criminals.
“We therefore continue to work on multiple fronts – concludes Zinno – driven by the principles of legality and on a dual track: that of the protection and support of the neediest fellow citizens and that of the reuse of assets as a cultural and social response for our territory”.
