A seismic swarm was recorded during the night in the Campi Flegrei area.
The Vesuvius Observatory communicated to the municipal administration of Pozzuoli that 35 earthquakes were recorded between 23 pm and 01:17 am, with a maximum magnitude of 1.8.
Within the sequence, two main events were reported, both near the south-west rim of the Astroni crater: the first of magnitude 1.8, which occurred at 23.32 pm at a depth of 1,3 km, and the second of magnitude 1.7, which occurred at 23.38 pm at a depth of 1,4 km.
The tremors were felt by the population. No damage was reported. The Municipal Administration of Pozzuoli, in close contact with the Vesuvius Observatory, followed the evolution of the seismic swarm with the Municipal Civil Protection, providing updates until the end of the phenomenon.

The Municipal Administration, together with the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Pozzuoli, underlines a note, "will continue to follow the evolution of the seismic swarm and will provide subsequent updates until the conclusion of the current phenomenon".
The swarm is part of the phenomenon of bradyseism (lowering or raising of the ground level) that has been recorded in the area for decades.
