The bench dedicated to Smorfia was vandalized in San Giorgio a Cremano. The artist Giuseppe Avolio reported the vandalism on his Facebook page
Last March in the municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano some public benches, thanks to the intervention of the artist Giuseppe Avolio, were repainted transforming them into tributes to the unforgettable and unforgettable trio of "La Smorfia" composed of Massimo Troisi, Lello Arena and Enzo De Caro.
Unfortunately, however, some of the benches have already suffered damage, apparently caused by vandalism. Avolio himself reported it on his Facebook page: “Does it seem logical to you? Incivility… incivility… incivility… I’m sorry to say it, but you don’t deserve anything!!! I worked my ass off and this is the result… you are uncivilized!!! How disgusting!!! I had asked for it publicly, on live TV, on websites… I had asked to safeguard a “hard-earned” and loved job… but nothing… you don’t deserve anything!!!
Of course my outburst is not directed at all the people of San Giorgio, but at that part of the people who must remain only in disgust and abandonment... You have no love for culture and sacrifice!!!
I have to think that in Sangiorgio there is someone who does it on purpose, an insult to show that it bothers... I don't want to believe that people are so ignorant!!!

"We express our solidarity with Avolio and anyone who is working hard to bring decorum, dignity and beauty back to our streets, fighting against the degradation and incivility that is becoming increasingly difficult to combat. Art, beauty, the decorum of our streets, the memory of who contributed to making Naples great are all values to be protected and safeguarded and to do so requires a unity of purpose on the part of institutions, law enforcement and citizens. Only by all rowing in the same direction can we save our land from the degradation and rampant incivility, it is time to change mentality and for everyone to assume their own responsibilities" - commented the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli, the territorial manager of the Greens Salvatore Petrilli and the municipal councilor of the Sole che Ride Alessandro Cilento.
