The curfew in Mykonos blocks the departure of hundreds of young Italians.
Many are canceling reservations on the Greek island, a popular destination for young people seeking leisure and entertainment. With a curfew in place in Mykonos, in addition to a nighttime traffic ban between 1 and 6 a.m., Greek authorities have also banned music in bars, clubs, and restaurants.
The new rules will be in force until July 26, while the Greece The Delta region is experiencing a surge in cases, especially in the state. On Friday, there were 2.700 new infections in the country, compared to fewer than 400 three weeks ago.
And so, following Barcelona and Catalonia, Greece has also imposed a curfew on Mykonos. This decision comes 24 hours after the one in Barcelona, with the reinstatement, starting today, of the curfew, also extended to other cities in Catalonia, including the popular seaside resorts of Sitges and Salou. These are significant decisions taken in the midst of the summer season and will likely impact Italians' holiday choices.

MANY ITALIANS CANCEL AFTER CURFEW IN MYKONOS
According to a Coldiretti analysis, fewer than 1,5 million Italians have decided to vacation abroad. But many of these have already decided to cancel. The Delta variant and fears of contagion are once again halting the flow of tourists abroad.
Almost all Italians have decided to stay within their national borders, but there is even one in three Italians (33,3%) who has chosen to take a zero-kilometer holiday by staying within their own region.
