Sofia Loren's condolences for the passing of Raffaella Carrà "are a blow to the heart, a horrendous blow that comes completely unexpected."
With these words the Sophia national expresses its condolences for the passing of the showgirl most loved by Italians.
Condolences Sophia Loren
"Before that wonderful interview, during 'A racconta comincia tu'," says Loren, "in which we truly seemed like old friends, we had never met in person. Yet we had come so close many times, in Italy and America. We almost bumped into each other in the makeup room, in a television studio; once I was a guest on a show she was also on, but I was being interviewed by Corrado, somewhere else, and that time, too, nothing." Yet, during the interview, Loren had called her "little sister Carrà." Because, she explains, "I felt that sisterhood even though we had shaken hands for the first time there. I had been following her for a long time and thought she was phenomenal. We had fun the whole time, it was great working together, we understood each other instantly, and the jokes were all spontaneous. We talk, but I still can't believe she left without saying anything. A lesson for everyone."
Condolences Sophia Loren - Raffaella is a gift that life has given me

After the TV interview, we stayed in touch, he adds, "for as long as possible. She was always kind, present, and affectionate with me. Imagine, over coffee, she told me not to smoke anymore, and I haven't done so since. I threw away the cigarette and never lit it again. Raffaella is a gift that life has given me."

Loren finally speaks of the rigor and perfectionism she shared with Carrà: "If you don't do it like this, you'll get nowhere. You have to work with love and dedication; if you don't believe in it first, it's over. You have to have faith in yourself, and she had that, and that's how you prepare to make your dreams come true. And if you fall, you swallow it and try again. She was a great professional and a wonderful woman; she had put on beautiful shows, yet she was still amazed and enthusiastic. She had spent her life in show business and had become universally known as Carrà. This is no ordinary achievement. Very few can rightly say they've reached the top."
