L’assistenza non va in vacanza all’ospedale Cardarelli of Naples where there was surgery on a fifteen year old to remove a neoplasm benign of over 13 kilos.

A complex intervention, carried out with a minimally invasive technique to remove a cystadenofibroma from a 15-year-old girl. Francesca (a fictitious name to protect her privacy) arrived at the Cardarelli emergency room on Monday, August 16. After having urgently subjected her to the necessary tests, the doctors of the Emergency Department (DEA) immediately understood the seriousness of her condition and entrusted her to the care of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics directed by Dr. Claudio Santangelo.

In less than 24 hours Francesca was prepared and underwent surgery that allowed, with a cut of only 4 centimeters at the height of the groin, to remove the neoplasm of over 13 kilos and over 44 centimeters in diameter. In addition to the head physician Santangelo, the team composed of surgeons operated on her Giovanni Ruggiero e Viviana Natullo, by anesthetists Max Pisanti e Valeria Diglio and from the instrumentalist Silvio Case.

"These interventions are very delicate," explains the head physician Claudio Santangelo, "both because of the patient's age and because of the need to intervene on a neoplasm that, although benign, has abnormal dimensions. Stories like this demonstrate, if there is any need, that our hospital company offers answers to the most varied health needs at any time. For all of us who work and almost "live" in this hospital, it is a point of pride."
