After several attempts, Nougatine was born, bonbons of chopped and caramelized Piedmont hazelnuts covered in extra dark chocolate, which marked the birth of the Venchi Spa chocolate factory. From then on, he began to combine, with passion, meticulousness and the courage to experiment, the various ingredients that led him to create his own version of the most famous chocolates we know today, including the symbol of Piedmont: the gianduiotto, available on the store https://it.venchi.com/root/cioccolatini/gianduiotto/5637163365.c in various formats and variants.

But where does the curious name “gianduiotto” come from? Its fame as a chocolate obviously precedes it, yet we need to take a look at history of Turin gastronomy to reconstruct their origins. It is said that in 1865, during the Carnival celebrations, the Turin masked Gianduja distributed these small golden petites prepared only with cocoa butter, sugar, cocoa, toasted and ground hazelnuts through the streets of the city. The delicious chocolates conquered everyone's palate and soon became rightfully among the best delights of the Turin tradition, so much so that its fame has now gone beyond borders.

And now, thanks to the new and tasty variants proposed by Venchi (such as the “dark” variant that combines dark chocolate with hazelnuts), there will be no more excuses for not being tempted, alone or in good company. So come forward and savor the goodness of a gianduiotto produced according to the artisanal method!
