The book "Francesco De Gregori. The lyrics. The history of songs”, edited by Enrico Deregibus, won the seventeenth edition of the “Franco Enriquez National Award. City of Sirolo".
In the over 700 pages of the volume, the Piedmontese journalist recounts the 219 songs that De Gregori has included in his records from 1972 to today, with extensive notes that reserve many surprises even for those who know the Roman artist well, one of the most important protagonists in the history of music in Italy.
The motivation for the award reads: “The book is the result of an accurate and detailed investigation by Deregibus inside and outside the songs, respectfully examining all the components: words, music, arrangements, interpretation. The book tells the story of the birth, the sources, the inspiration, the writing, what happened after the release, the many versions of their author and those of others. A copious volume that, thanks also to the collaboration of De Gregori, gives us back the meaning of creation, the fruit of the work of the soul and reason".
The Enriquez Award is organized by the Franco Enriquez Study Center, directed by Paolo Larici. It is an award given to directors, actors, singers, dancers, musicians, journalists, writers and communication figures who have particularly distinguished themselves in the 2020-2021 season or in their careers for theater, cinema, TV, music, publishing and communication of social and civil commitment. Among this year's award winners, Iaia forte, Giuseppe Pambieri, Anna Bonhelp, Elizabeth Sgarbi and, in memory, Carla Fracci.
