Yesterday evening, August 15, 2021, a report arrived on the 1530 Sea Emergency number of the Operations Room of the Maritime Directorate of Campania, concerning a request for assistance to a pleasure boat that ran aground at the shallows of the “scogli comrata” off the coast of Forio.
The Operations Room of the Maritime District Office was immediately informed. Ischia, which, under the coordination of the Maritime Directorate, ordered the dispatch of the SAR patrol boat CP807 to the area.
The latter immediately recovered all the occupants of the unit, i.e. 7 adults and 2 children, transporting them to the port of Forio, where the local Coast Guard personnel were waiting for them. No one needed medical attention.
This morning, the owner of the vessel promptly took action to carry out the recovery operations, under the technical coordination and supervision of the Coast Guard.
