On the morning of Thursday 12 August, the personnel of the Municipal Police Command and the Coast Guard of Forio, coordinated by the Maritime District Office of Ischia, carried out a control activity concerning the phenomenon of the occupation of stretches of free beach.
The activity pursues the aim of returning to public use stretches of state property that have been illegally occupied and, for the Coast Guard military personnel, constitutes one of the various interventions planned at a regional level by the Maritime Directorate of Campania on the basis of preventive analysis of the critical issues that can most frequently characterise areas and locations.

The operation started in the early hours of the morning and led the military along the entire municipal coastline, including the beaches of “Chiaia” and “Citara”, where various beach equipment was found.
All the material was seized following the discovery of violations of the seaside ordinance no. 104/2020 and the rules governing the correct use of the maritime state property, and is now kept in municipal warehouses.
