Yesterday afternoon, near the Scannella Bay of Ischia, a distress call was launched by the occupants of a dinghy in trouble.
The vessel was not in a condition to be able to maneuver and was dangerously dragged by the current towards the rocks. The vessel intervened promptly Coast Guard GC 07 of Ischia, employed after a rapid analysis of the situation and chosen for its specific technical characteristics which would have allowed an effective intervention.
The military quickly intercepted the vessel in difficulty, and once on board they verified the good conditions of the three adult passengers and, above all, two children.

An attempt was made to identify the cause of the failure in order to resolve it, but a concrete risk situation had been created, with the dinghy at risk of crashing into the rocks. The Coast Guard boat took the dinghy to a safety zone and subsequently in the nearest port, Sant'Angelo.
A timely and decisive action that avoided potentially very serious consequences. It adds to the many others carried out along the Campania coasts and bases its effectiveness also on a careful evaluation of the operational scenarios and a continuously updated regional planning to better deploy men and resources.
