From today, green pass also in company canteens: unions protest

“Let's be clear, the union is inviting all workers to get vaccinated and we have nothing in principle against the Green Pass, but in the name of this it is not acceptable to introduce a punitive and sanctioning logic against those who work”The general secretary of the CGIL explained this today in an interview with La Repubblica, Maurizio Landini.

The focus is on the fines provided for in the decree for school personnel who show up to work without a Green Pass and also on the rule that ends up treating company canteens in the same way as restaurants.

“I wonder if whoever decided this rule has been in a company cafeteria lately. Well, he should go.”He says. “After the safety protocols we have signed through distancing, the use of masks, sanitization, smart working and different work shifts, the workplaces are safe. No one can – Landini emphasizes – to argue that offices or factories are now potential hotbeds for the spread of the virus. The wrong message must not be conveyed that vaccines and the Green Pass, while essential, are sufficient by themselves to defeat the virus. This is not the case, unfortunately”.
