A special day to live in the heart of National Park of Cilento, a World Heritage Site, with cultural excursions, live music, tastings and the epic narration dedicated to one of the most prized typical products of the Campania Region: the Vatolla Onion.
Treasure of the Mediterranean Diet and of the biodiversity of Cilento, the Vatolla onion It is a unique variety in the world that is grown only in this area of Campania thanks to the wisdom and care of the women of the "Vatolla Onion Association", as the president explains to us Angela Marzucca, "This event is a very important signal for this territory, an opportunity to relaunch the internal areas, thanks to the Campania Region. It is the demonstration that when there is passion, love for one's land and honesty even impossible dreams find their fulfillment".
And it is with this spirit that it is born Interweavings – At the heart of the Earth, a project with the artistic direction of Gabriella Rinaldi, which will be held Saturday September 4 in the village of Vatolla (municipality of Perdifumo – Sa).
It starts at 18.00 and 19.00 with two free excursions to discover Ancient Vatolla; during the free tour of about 30 minutes, in fact, participants will be able to admire the Church of S. Maria delle Grazie, Old Palace Alley, Giambattista Vico Square, Rosani Alley and Convent of S. Maria della Pietà. It will be possible to reach the starting point of the walk with dedicated shuttles: the meeting point is at the parking lot located near the sports field 10 minutes before the start of the route.
All 20.30 hours, instead, at the Garden of the Convent of S. Maria della Pietà, screening of “Intrecci”, the documentary by Gabriella Rinaldi that narrates the extraordinary project of cultivation, care and recovery of the ancient seeds of the Vatolla Onion by the women of the Association of Ancient Recipes with the participation of Antonio Tubelli and Anna Mazza.
The day closes at 21.30 pm with the concert “Mediterranean Enchantment"With Tony Esposito Ft. Essences – Gabriella Rinaldi, Myriam Lattanzio, Giovanna Panza, Anna Mazza; the performance is an absolute preview, an evocative live show that translates into a journey through the Mediterranean, with its history of magical places and lands of resilience, a path made of men and women who have been able to treasure their heritage and their culture to tell it and offer it to the world.
During the evening it will also be possible to taste typical local products prepared by the Cipolla di Vatolla Association.
