The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Naples have arrested a Barcelona, Gennaro Esposito, a 34 year old Neapolitan, considered a leading figure in the Mazzarella clan.
The man, untraceable since July 2020 and the recipient of two provisions issued by the Neapolitan judicial authorities, is considered seriously responsible for the crime of extortion aggravated by mafia purposes and mafia-style criminal association.
Last night in Barcelona – the city where the fugitive was taking refuge – the Spanish FAS Team, activated by the Italian International Police Cooperation Service following precise indications from the Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit, captured Esposito (called “Genni cape e bomb”) which was together with his partner. The woman, departed from Naples, had just reached him.

Localization by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Nucleus of the Provincial Command of Naples, is part of a complex investigation that began last November and coordinated by the magistrates of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples - District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The 34-year-old is now in prison awaiting extradition.
