Mondragone. A truly unique ordinance, destined to stir up controversy, the one published by the Municipality.

The deputy mayor Francesco Lavanga, who is replacing the mayor Virgil Pacific, has in fact ordered – pending the bans on bonfires and bivouacs on the beaches – also the Bathing prohibition for the days of August 14, 15 and 16. Certainly an error in the drafting of the provision which, however, is already unleashing a hornet's nest of controversy among citizens and among those who have chosen the coastal city for their holidays.

We are now waiting for a correction to the ordinance but for the moment they will not be able to swim “during the day and night, without prejudice to any Public Safety authorisations that may be issued”.

The measure also includes a ban on “camping even temporarily, during the day and night on 14 -15-16 August 2021 on the beach of the Municipality of Mondragone” and the ban on “bivouac, fishing with any gear during the day and night on 14 – 15 – 16 August 2021”. The setting off of fireworks on the beach is also prohibited.
