Napoli. Vaccination prophylaxis for Afghan citizens began this morning at the Covid Residence of the Ospedale del Mare, as ordered by the Campania Region Crisis Unit.
The ASL Napoli 1 Centro has organized the stations and is proceeding with the administration of the Johnson vaccines (which allow a single dose) or Pfizer, after obtaining the informed consent that is illustrated with the help of mediators.
The woman who was admitted to the Ospedale del Mare for surgery performed by the orthopedic surgery team (composed of doctors Orabona, Traficante and Busco) on a compound fracture of the external tibial plateau has been operated on and is doing well.
In particular, a reduction and stabilization operation with plate and screws and compound fracture of the femoral condyle synthesized with screw was performed. The patient is awake, the post-operative course is estimated at 3 days, barring complications. The Afghan lady's brother is present in the hospital room.
The only Afghan who tested positive for the molecular swab among those in the first group of arrivals is paucisymptomatic and continues to be hospitalized at the Covid Hospital Loreto Mare. The additional 40 Afghans who arrived at the Covid Residence of the Ospedale del Mare all tested negative for the molecular swab.
The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has also ensured the presence of psychologists through two stations dedicated to supporting guests and, in particular, children. In addition, the operations of collecting goods for Afghan citizens continue also through voluntary associations.
Please note that delivery to the Covid Residence is not permitted, but it is possible to send essential goods to the nearby Civil Protection Association 'Il Quadrifoglio' (tel 388.3874980). Finally, the laundry service is already active and the guests' diet is also being taken into account.
