There is a new pollution alert for the Sarno river.
This time the spotlight is on the situation of Emperor's Ditch, in Nocera Inferiore, a tributary of the Sarno, where as several citizens report to the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli illegal discharges have been taking place for years.
"We have reported this situation to Arpac and the Environmental Police, requesting accurate checks. It is necessary to intervene in a determined manner to put an end to this outrage. The Sarno is a river that is born clean but along its course it is polluted, especially due to illegal and illicit discharges, and this is why it is absolutely necessary to identify all the polluters and punish them in a very severe manner, even with the closure of the activities if necessary.

We must save the waterways and our land and the only way to do so is to organize constant monitoring of the territory, launch targeted checks and investigations and provide very severe penalties for those who pollute”, said the Councilor Borrelli.
