The Carabinieri of Perugia, yesterday evening, arrested, in flagrante delicto of the crime of attempted aggravated murder, a 62-year-old Iranian citizen, resident in the Umbrian capital, already known to the police and under special surveillance.

In particular, the man showed up at the police station, with his luggage, reporting that he had shortly before stabbed a neighbor. In confirmation of what he said, the man spontaneously handed over the knife he had used, still with evident traces of blood, which was immediately seized.

The investigations carried out by the military of the Arma, coordinated by the Perugia prosecutor's office, by the military have allowed to ascertain that, in the Settevalli area, the Iranian, at the end of a violent fight that broke out for reasons still being examined by the investigators, had inflicted two stab wounds on a 45 year old Neapolitan man also already known to the Carabinieri.

The victim was rescued and accompanied by his partner to the 'Santa Maria della Misericordia' hospital, where he is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. At the end of the formal procedures, while going to the arrested man's home to seize material deemed relevant to the investigation, the carabinieri had to contain an attempted attack on the 47-year-old by a group of 6/7 people made up of relatives and friends of the stabbed man.
