Petagna is there, and Napoli is there. Spalletti's Azzurri beat Genoa thanks to the striker's goal, which, with his first touch of the ball as a substitute, gave Napoli the 2-1 victory.
The Azzurri repeat last week's success against Venezia by overcoming, with no small effort, Genoa at the 'Ferraris' by 2-1. Napoli ahead in the 39th minute with a left-footed shot from Ruiz, then a decisive header from Petagna in the final minutes. In the middle, Cambiaso's temporary equaliser with his first goal in Serie A.
Light trident for Spalletti who lines up Lozano, Insigne and Politano against a Genoa with only one striker Ekuban. And Napoli immediately dangerous with Lozano who heads a cross from Politano but sends it high. Genoa however holds up well with a 3-5-1-1 that in the defensive phase transforms into a gritty 5-4-1 erecting a wall in front of the defense.
Napoli struggles despite excellent ball movement, relying mainly on the creativity of Insigne who at 13' tests Sirigu with a nice diagonal. But Genoa understands that they can do more and dares so much that around the 20' they almost take the lead with Ghiglione who however finds Meret good at opposing and deflecting it into a corner. Napoli regains control of the game as the minutes pass and at half an hour Insigne tests Sirigu again.

But it was only in the 39th minute that the guests took the lead thanks to a piece of magic by Fabian Ruiz from the edge of the area who, with a perfect diagonal shot for precision and power, put the ball in the far corner where the rossoblu goalkeeper couldn't reach. A goal that allowed Napoli to go into the break with the lead. But at half-time Ballardini changed things by bringing on Pandev and the young Polish player Buksa on his debut and Genoa changed face.
Already at the 5th minute Ghiglione would have the ball to equalize but first Meret and then Manolas oppose. At the 9th minute Genoa scores with Pandev who puts the ball back into the net after Meret lost it but Di Bello disallows it for a very dubious foul on Meret himself. The goal, however, is in the air and arrives at the 24th minute, after Sirigu had saved on Lozano, Ghiglione cuts across the area with a cross that finds Cambiaso ready at the far post, volley and goal for the young winger born in Genoa and product of the rossoblu' youth sector.
Spalletti relies on substitutions by inserting Ounas and Petagna but Insigne is still the most dangerous, testing the rossoblu goalkeeper on two occasions. And Petagna, who had just come on in the 40th minute, finds the goal for the new lead by heading in a free kick by Mario Rui with Masiello, his marker, immobile. Six minutes of injury time are not enough for the rossoblu to recover further and so in the end Napoli can celebrate but the home crowd rightly pays a big round of applause to its young players.
