Mario De Marco, an anti-vax policeman, Polfer agent and trade unionist, published a photo while having lunch at an improvised table outside the Massarelli barracks in Gorizia.

'I'm not convinced about the vaccine, I don't want to do it. The impositions are too tight for me. Of course I don't want to get sick: Covid scares me just as much as leaving the house and being hit on the head by a tile scares me, but I don't consider the disease that dangerous.' Has explained Mario De Marco, 58 years old, police officer railway police di Gorizia and provincial coordinator of the union 'The shield', whose photo, with lunch on a table between two cars, has been making the rounds on social media.

De Marco explains the genesis of the shot: “In the courtyard there was a table with 4 chairs, but the seats were already taken. I took a small table that I had used camping with friends out of the trunk of my car, went to pick up my take-away lunch from the canteen and ate there, between two cars. It seems absurd to me”.  In March 2020, De Marco himself, who today does not consider the disease so dangerous, published on Youtube an appeal to stay at home to protect yourself against Covid-19.

"I am not vaccinated, I do not have the Green Pass and for this reason they did not let me enter the canteen at the Massarelli barracks" ma "we work in the barracks, we stay in the accommodations, we get into the car, we work side by side with colleagues and only in the canteen is the Pass required and they separate us".

“I wonder if I will be able to get on the train for the checks, if I will be able to continue working,” he says in view of September when the green pass will also be in force on trains. "I would hate to end up in an office, but I would accept being demoted rather than forced to get vaccinated. If they fired me I would think about it, but I will retire soon, I should save myself."
