Ravello. The magic of music and the transition from night to day: the Dawn Concert is a message of hope for humanity after the pandemic.
It was the highlight of the Ravello Festival, the most anticipated, magical, the passage from night to day, from darkness to light, which gave 300 spectators the musical background to accompany the birth of the new day.
The essence, the meaning of the passage from darkness to light, was underlined by James Conlon – the New York maestro who conducted the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra in a monographic program dedicated to Beethoven's symphonies no. 8 and no. 6. At the end of the concert, Conlon, called back to the podium by the applause of the audience, granted as an encore the last movement of Beethoven's “Pastoral”: the thanksgiving to the Divinity after the storm – as a wish for a future of serenity for humanity so tested by the pandemic.
