Between pura vida and an uncontainable explosion of joy, the Dum Dum Republic is preparing to welcome its one and only, inimitable captain Roy Paci with the Aretuska family for an extraordinary and intense concert on the beach.
Roy Paci will stop at Dum Dum with “The Despedida Tour 2021”, the 'ultima gira', or rather the last tour with Aretuska to passionately and originally bid farewell to the fans of a 25-year-long project. Once again Roy does it his way, giving emotions from the stage with his voice and enchanting hearts with his unmistakable Sofia, in an unrepeatable feeling with the audience.
The seaside arena of Dum Dum Republic on August 15th (in the evening, closing the rich Ferragosto events program), will vibrate with the emotions that only Roy can create, condensing positive energy, communicative strength and all the creativity of the south of the world, always taking a stand, with courage, with respect to human and civil rights. Trumpeter, composer, singer, producer, but also artistic director of the Roymundo Festival, the show on stage at Dum DumRepublic: the journey through the new cultural and sound emergencies, which has brought, over the years, to the stage of the beach club on the Cilento coast the most intense and emblematic artistic personalities of global music, with a strong social and artistic impact, as well as a stimulus to civil conscience.
"Despedida. One of those dearest words, along with 'saudade' and 'candela', that I carry in my heart after the years spent in South America. And it's precisely this word that I wanted to use to title this tour, which will also be the last for my fabulous band, Roy Paci & Aretuska. - he writes Roy in a passionate post announcing the 'last turn' – A group that I've supported for a quarter of a century with great sacrifice and immense satisfaction, and that now, with a smile and music on my lips, I want to bid farewell for the last time to the great audience that has always, with such energy, supported, and loved us. I want to thank the dozens of technicians and musicians who have come and gone over all these years, who undoubtedly deserve the honors of this legendary family.
Finally, live music will be able to start, together with the many souls who will live this conclusive experience, even if in a different way than in the past: the Despedida tour will be a moment of sharing, proposing iconic successes of the great albums and discovering songs, small "rarities", never included in the previous live performances. Roy Paci will bring this intense journey to the stage with Aretuska, telling, through his songs, a varied artistic path that has made aficionados from all over the world dance and excite, from international festivals such as the Womad Reading Festival, Hit Week in New York, Sziget Festival in Hungary, Festival de Verão in Salvador Bahia, Blue Frog Festival in Mumbai and toured far and wide throughout Italy bringing energy and "beleza".
A tour that brings with it all the desire for artistic rebirth, to start again with new vibrations.
