On Thursday morning, the officers of the Torre del Greco Police Station, while passing near the Sant'Antonio roundabout, noticed a man riding a motorbike who was travelling in the wrong direction and at high speed in the direction of Torre Annunziata and who, at the sight of them, accelerated and disappeared without a trace.
The police, thanks to the images from the video surveillance system of the Municipality of Torre Annunziata, identified and tracked down the driver who admitted to having used that same scooter to commit two robberies at two pharmacies in Torre Annunziata on August 25 and 26, during which, armed with a gun, he had the takings handed over.
Furthermore, the officers found, in the man's home, a pistol without a red cap with 50 blank cartridges, 16 of which were inserted in the magazine, and several items of clothing and a helmet corresponding to those used to commit the robberies.
Francesco Della Ragione, a 50-year-old from Oplonti with a criminal record, was arrested by the PG for aggravated robbery, which was validated today by the Judicial Authority, which ordered the suspect to be held in prison.
