'Vanvitelli under the stars' hosts Alessandro Grande and his 'Regina'

"Vanvitelli under the stars“, continues its journey in the splendid setting of the Belvedere di San Leucio to give spectators another evening of great open-air cinema. The appointment is for Saturday August 28 at 21pm with the screening of “Regina“, first work of Alexander the Great who will meet the audience immediately after the film.

Interviewed by Francesco Massarelli, artistic director of the festival, the Calabrian director will reveal anecdotes and curiosities about the cast and the locations, the latter also fully-fledged protagonists of the story.

A family drama, a noir and at the same time an unpublished coming-of-age novel, all this is Regina, freely inspired by “The Telemachus Complex” by Massimo Recalcati, and starring the extraordinary Francesco Montanari and Ginevra Francesconi. Presented at the 2020 Turin Film Festival, the film also received a nomination for the Nastri d'Argento.

A story, set in a Calabria never seen before, which, for once, sees the adult character more in need of growing up than the adolescent. After the death of her mother, Regina, the young protagonist, lives an almost symbiotic relationship with her father. The fragile balance between the two is broken, however, when they are involved in a serious accident that forces Regina to become aware of the limits and shortcomings of the father figure.

Invitation tickets to attend the free screenings are being distributed at the MD supermarkets in San Nicola la Strada, Casagiove, Tredici and Curti, at Vanessa Sound in via Tescione in Caserta, at the Sunrise pizzeria in via Roma in Caserta, at the Twins Volkswagen dealership in Marcianise, and at the De Matteo men's clothing store in Santa Maria a Vico.
