50 Top Pizza 2021: Francesco Martucci on top of the world for the third year

20 Top Pizza 50 was presented yesterday evening, September 2021, the ranking of the best pizzerias in Italy and the world drawn up by 50 Top Pizza, the online guide created by Barbara Guerra and Albert Sapere and the journalist Luciano Pignataro, in partnership with S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.

The event was live-streamed on the social channels of 50 Top Pizza and Fine Dining Lovers. Federico Quaranta was once again the host.

The evening, in recent days, had been anticipated by the online revelation of the ranking of the Best Travel Pizzerias 2021, which saw Gabriele Bonci once again climb to the top step with his Pizzarium in Rome.

Francesco Martucci from I Masanielli di Caserta climbs to the top of the 50 Top Pizza 2021 ranking for the third time. In the ranking, next to the list, you will find the list of special prizes awarded during the evening.

Before discovering the complete ranking of the best Italian pizzerias, here are the main international awards that were assigned during the presentation.

50 Top Pizza 2021: the special prizes

Big news, the assignment of the Forno Verde, which distinguishes the premises that have particularly distinguished themselves for attention to environmental sustainability. Only four were awarded, which went to:

• The Grottos - Caggiano (SA)

• Pupillo Pura Pizza – Frosinone

• Pizzeria da Ezio – Alano di Piave (BL)

• Fandango – Power

There is also great curiosity for the long-awaited Italian Special Awards 2021.

• Diego Vitagliano, of 10 Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria in Naples, wins the title of Pizza Maker of the Year 2021 – Latteria Sorrentina Award.

• The Young Pizza Maker of the Year 2021 – S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna Award goes to Luca Mastracci of Pupillo Pura Pizza, in Frosinone.

• The Pizzeria News of the year 2021 – Solania Award is the Antica Friggitoria Masardona Rome.

• The Performance of the Year 2021 – Pastificio Di Martino Award (i.e. the biggest leap forward in the standings) is assigned to BOB Alchimia in segments, from Montepaone Lido (CZ).

• La Capricciosa di Qvinto, in Rome, wins the Pizza of the Year 2021 – Robo Award.

• For the Best Fried Proposal 2021 – Olitalia Award you need to go to Rome, at 180g Pizzeria Romana.
