Inside the cultural review Rhythms of the Sun, of the Sea, of Travel, of the South, two shows at the Maschio Angioino of Naples: the September 6th to Alessandro Preziosi and September 12th to isabella ferrari.
Monday 6 September goes on stage"Othello, on Cassio's side”, a musical reading created in collaboration with KHORAteatro with the original adaptation of the Shakespearean text by Tommaso Mattei, who reinterprets the tragedy of jealousy from one of the masterpieces of W. Shakespeare's theatre from the point of view of Cassio, Othello's faithful captain, played by Alessandro Preziosi.
The pianist accompanies the narrator's voice Charles Guaitoli, which offers pieces modeled on the complexity and internal conflicts of Shakespearean characters, and helps them to reincarnate in the contemporary world. The soundtrack accompanies the text by exploring the sound of the piano in its infinite possibilities, including effects and electronics. The improvisations and pieces composed specifically for Othello alternate with immortal classics (Chopin, Shostakovich) and contemporary jazz and pop pieces in a sort of liberating rite that is at the same time impure and cathartic.
Sunday September 12th, instead, Greek poetry and myth, that is, the roots and the very essence of the common Western culture and civilization, live again in the “Fedra"Signed by Ghiannis Ritsos, one of the most important Greek poets of the twentieth century. Protagonist isabella ferrari, a much-loved actress in the cinematic universe, accompanied on the violin by Georgia Privitera.
"Otello and Fedra are the two shows that close this long summer that has finally seen people return to the theater. In Naples, in the splendid setting of the castle that dominates Piazza Municipio and which is one of the symbols of the city, the sold out for both shows demonstrates the strength of culture in this phase of rebirth and how people are increasingly eager to see live shows again", points out Elena Marazzita.
