Tuesday September 28, on the occasion of the second edition of “Izimbra Music Fest" Alessia Round will present his new album in concert for the first time “Sita".

Published on September 24th by Ipe Ipe Music and Puglia Sounds, the debut solo album of the Salento artist, voice of the historic Grecanico Salentino songwriter, will be at the centre of the Neapolitan performance in the Cortile del Maschio Angioino, first stop of the Sita Tour.

"Sita is my most intimate story, the one that until now I would have told or whispered to the closet in my room and to no one else. She is my rosacea, my most insidious whys, my most beautiful light. She is the worst panic attack and the best antidote to calm it. Sita was born from the chest and the viscera, in solitude. He does not need to scream but to untangle, he is the exorcism of the "bad thought", my healing rite that is accomplished with the story. He puts sensations and thoughts in order. Only after being born did he meet others, he showed himself naked, like this and he waited, he is still waiting to be welcomed".

Preceded by the single Aria and the video clip that quickly surpassed 11.000 views, conceived and developed as her personal narration of a healing rite, Sita is a precious album, intimate but at the same time universal, magical and profound. One of the rare examples in which popular culture, specifically that of Salento where Alessia Tondo comes from, is personalized and transfigured in a visionary key.

From her childhood in the group Mera Menhir to international popularity with the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Alessia Tondo is one of the most significant voices in the Apulian panorama. She was launched by Sud Sound System, at just thirteen years old she became the lead singer of the Notte della Taranta Orchestra, she collaborated with the Orchestra Popolare Italiana of Ambrogio Sparagna, Radiodervish, Michele Lobaccaro, Ludovico Einaudi (for whom she wrote the lyrics of the successful Nuvole bianche) and Admir Shkurtaj.

In Salento, sita is the pomegranate, a symbol of good luck, meeting and sharing. Alessia was inspired by this symbolism to imagine a work in eight tracks written entirely by her – with the participation of the violin of Mauro Durante of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (in Me putia bastà) and the cello of Redi Hasa (in Sta notte) – and characterized by a breadth of elements, from acoustic to electronic, between arcane ballads, ancient vocal interweavings that become contemporary thanks to loops and patterns.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office on the evening of the concert (Single seat: 8,00 euros) or in advance on Eventbrite (Single seat 8,00 euros + ddp 1,74 euros). The event will be organized in compliance with the regulations currently in force for the containment of the spread of Covid19.
