The activities of the project “Alétheia and Doxa”, promoted by the Department for Family Policies within the framework of the “Educare” Call, continue; the beneficiary is the “Parmenide” Higher Education Institute of Vallo della Lucania – whose director is Francesco Massanova – thanks to the project drawn up by Professor Maria Rosaria Trama.
Throughout the month of September, the young protagonists of the project were engaged in various activities, from the game of chess to a theatrical experimentation path. Interesting themes were addressed - starting from the texts of classical philosophers, such as Parmenides, up to contemporary thinkers - through a method that saw the kids as actors, spectators and protagonists of a scenic action, guided by experts in the theater and cinema sector. Here are the next scheduled events: Monday, September 27 from 8:30 to 13:00 the "Chess Tournament" will be held, at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Vallo della Lucania, followed by Thursday, September 30, from 8:30 to 13:00, the "Chess Final", with a live game in period costumes at the Parco Stella del Mattino in Vallo della Lucania, which will end with the awarding of the participants. The activities were organized and carried out in collaboration with the Italo-German Association "La Danza delle Farfalle".
Wednesday, September 29, starting at 8:40 am, the screening of the film “La volpe Sophia” is scheduled at Parco Stella del Mattino, intended for primary and secondary school students, based on the TV series of the same name broadcast on the national platform Timvision, to educate new generations to the happiness and joy of participating in the beauty of life. The text is by the author, musician and director Andrea Lucisano, president of the association “La Danza delle Farfalle”.
Lucisano takes up numerous philosophical elements, using the fable as an educational tool, addressing the issues of legality and justice, using the concept of Beauty together with that of Knowledge: it is no coincidence that the protagonist, Sophia, has a name that derives from the Greek term that means Wisdom. In the episode on legality entitled “The fox Sophia and the solar riddle” the actor Antonio Buonomo appears in the role of the boss.
Following the presentation of the film “Socrates and the Pink Cloud” for the third and fourth classes of the Parmenide High School of Vallo della Lucania, again presented by the author Lucisano.
The short film – which alternates animated and real scenes – is a happy synthesis between classical culture and modern trends, in which Socrates, played by Carlo Rivolta, using the speech of defense in court of the Apologia, dialogues with young people on the themes of justice and courage, aiming to make the exhortation “know thyself” (gnòthi seaùton) effective, inviting them to ask themselves questions: do we prefer to be act or power? Differentiate or conform? The intent is to make the young generations understand that it is important to be, not to have and to be, not to appear.
During the presentation of the films there will be a stage action by the students of the Parmenide High School led by the trainer Evelyn Egner, with the support of the actress Paola Tortora.
