La Civil protection of Campania has issued a notice of weather alert with a yellow level of hydrogeological criticality for storms valid from 10am to 22pm tomorrow, Friday 17 September.
The disturbance affects the Campania plain, Naples, including the islands and the Vesuvian area; upper Volturno and Matese; Sorrento-Amalfi peninsula, Sarno and Picentini mountains; upper Irpinia and Sannio. Sudden and very intense precipitations are possible, strongly localized.
These thunderstorm phenomena are difficult to predict in spatial and temporal terms because they are characterized by a great speed of evolution. Hailstorms, lightning and gusts of wind that can cause damage to roofs, falling branches or trees are also possible.
Scattered precipitation, including showers or thunderstorms, could be very intense in some parts of the territory. Possible gusts of wind are also expected during thunderstorms.
