Melito. A tough clash is taking place in the municipality of Melito for the upcoming administrative elections, where the center-right and center-left coalitions accuse each other of Camorra ties and infiltration.
In these years nothing seems to have changed in Melito, there was no desire to clarify some issues, which Europa Verde had discussed with the center-left mayoral candidate.
This is the reason why the party decided not to present the list in Melito. The Greens' appeals went unheard and there was no further dialogue with the candidate and with the coalition's representatives in the territory.
"If at least one of the factions tells the truth, then it is a very serious matter, and it means that in all these years nothing has changed because nothing has been done to stop the connections between politics and clans. If instead it is a vile electoral campaign, by both sides that would exploit the sounding board of such serious facts to throw mud at their opponents, it is equally serious.
In both cases, the ones who pay the price are the citizens of Melito who find themselves at the center of very serious facts and phenomena, immobilized for years in the same diatribes and accusations. We have sought answers from the center-left candidate for mayor, answers that have never arrived and that is why Europa verde has decided not to participate in the next elections in Melito”– declared Fiorella Zabatta, national co-President of Europa Verde.
