“The family will have to behave like any other employer. By October 15, they have the obligation to take charge of verifying that the person who works in the home has a Green Pass.”
To say it Elena Bonetti, Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family in an interview with 'Il Messaggero'. “This is a measure of protection and safeguard for family members and the workers themselves – Bonetti underlines – guidelines will be issued on this matter, but it is clear that the same rules apply at home as in other workplaces. In the event of a refusal to comply with the Green Pass obligation, the family has the means to suspend the domestic worker, the carer or the babysitter, as is provided for all other workers”.
And when asked whether extraordinary Covid leave will be reintroduced for parents forced to stay at home with their children, the minister explains: “As a government, we are preparing to reintroduce any regulatory support systems for parents who must stay home in the event of their children being quarantined, such as extraordinary Covid leave for mothers and fathers with children up to 14 years of age paid at 50%. It is a matter of defining the technical formulation and financial coverage”.
And regarding class quarantines he says: "I have asked for a review of the quarantine rules for vaccinated people who have had close contact with an infected person. I am thinking of teachers with double vaccination for whom the 7-day quarantine could be reduced or replaced with other tools, such as the swab. We are waiting for the opinion of the CTS, any new procedures will have to be validated by science but the organization is up to politics".
