Campania. "Free season ticket, but only for vaccinated students." During his usual live broadcast on social media, Campania Regional President Vincenzo De Luca confirmed that students will be exempt from paying for public transportation this year as well, but announced that the benefit will be tied to the vaccination campaign.

A measure that concerns students between 12 and 19 years old, who in Campania are 509 thousand. "Of these - De Luca underlines - 304 thousand have received at least one dose of vaccine and about 200 thousand are immunized. An extra effort is needed to stay calm". To minimize the risk of contagion, De Luca also ensures measures regarding transportation.

“The number of trips on normal routes will be increased immediately, we will have 66 – he explains, referring to the Eav company – plus, we will have additional trips with the start of the school year scheduled for mid-September”. As for the staff working in schools, De Luca announces a clarification soon for those who do not depend on the Ministry of Education.

“Everyone is required to have a green pass, even if they are not employees,” he says, “even if they are employed in canteens.” And on the vaccination campaign front, the governor reiterates his commitment to reaching “75-80% of fellow citizens immunized between September and October.”

The biggest concerns at the moment are for the younger segments of the population. “We are seeing worrying numbers regarding deaths, including among young people,” he explains, “so let’s all get vaccinated. You can get vaccinated without making reservations.”
