Il viaggio di Laura Angiulli, in the fervent narrative competence of Philip Roth, and that of an exciting show that guides us into the musical universe of Pino Daniele: these are the two appointments of Saturday September 18 al Campania Theater Festival.
Two female figures are at the centre of “Lucy and the others”, the show with dramaturgy and direction by Laura Angiulli that can be seen at Toledo Gallery of Naples the September 18th at 21pm, with a repeat the following day at the same time.
Lucy is the protagonist of “When she was good”, a 1967 novel by the American writer, while the other is the character of “Hoax”, which Roth wrote 23 years later. Between the two titles there is also space for that “American pastoral care“, which, against the backdrop of the contradictions of the Vietnam War and racial unrest, reveals the anger of a nation through the difficult relationship between a wealthy Jew and his revolutionary daughter.
The staging, between dramatic falls and relapses of dazzling lightning, attempts at redemption and adulterous intimacy, tells us about a reality free from geographical indications, where one can even sense the presence of a schizophrenia to be investigated between writing and real event, between art and life.
Always on Saturday, in the spaces of the Made in Cloister Foundation, in the square Enrico DeNicola in Naples, the suggestive “Pino Daniele Alive. The exhibition”, edited by Guido Harari e Alexander Daniel, which can be visited from September 18th to December 31st.
The exhibition, which will be opened from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 19 pm, will present for the first time in large-format prints the most iconic photographs of Pino Daniele taken by the photographers who followed him most closely throughout his career and unpublished images, digitized for the occasion.
Some historical pieces of the great Neapolitan artist will then be proposed in an intimate dimension of listening, with audio excerpts of the voice alone and/or the guitar alone isolated from the rest of the instruments. And it will be truly exciting to listen to Pino's breaths and soul during the various performances.
The exhibition will also feature objects and instruments that belonged to Daniele. In particular, his guitars, the mandolin used for the recordings of “Napule is”, the sheets of paper written by him with the concert schedules.
The ticket, which can be purchased at the entrance after booking on the website madeincloister.com, is completely free for under 18s, over 65s and disabled people with a companion.
