School starts again in Campania: 830 thousand return to school. Risk of crowds, mandatory Green pass, traffic and public transport congested.
The school year in Campania opens with these unknowns, even if at the moment there are no particular problems.
Over 830 students are returning to school, almost all in person, with the exception of a few schools that do not have enough classrooms or are carrying out maintenance work and have opted for one day a week of distance learning or following a rotation criterion, spreading the weekly hours over six days instead of five. With them, 5 teachers are also returning to class, 97% of whom have been vaccinated, as explained by the regional councilor for education, Lucia Fortini. The obligation to show the 'green certification' is triggered for all those who must access the schools.
A procedure that has caused some queues at the entrances, with inconveniences and delays. Also for this reason it was decided to limit the entrances: you enter following two shifts, in most cases at 8 and 9. In the nursery schools the staff is checking the certification for the parents who want to accompany their children inside. In the main institutes the situation is under control and the organizational system is well tested.
The Vanvitelli Nursery and Primary School has organized 'Welcome days' during this week to further stagger the return of students. Some managers, including Daniela Paparella of the Pansini high school, are complaining about some problems with teachers who have contracted Covid and have only been able to receive one dose of the vaccine. On this point, Councilor Fortini has already clarified that, with the favorable opinion of the ministry, they too will be able to receive the booster in these days.
Once classes have started, it will be necessary to ensure that the safety distance is respected, as recommended by the CTS. In several institutes, the distance between desks is less than a meter and therefore it will be necessary to wear a mask. The traffic situation near the entrances of the institutes is more chaotic, while the subways in the early hours of the morning were more crowded, but without particular critical issues.
In view of the resumption of school, from today until September 20, the Municipality of Naples has increased road transport with 40 buses and 400 additional trips per day for the ten routes most used by students and teachers.
Eav, the regional transport holding, has planned 18 more train journeys and 57 additional buses. The stoppage of the Chiaia funicular could have an impact on the return home, as it will close its gates at 14,30:24 p.m. for checks on the system and will reopen after XNUMX hours.
