Casal di Principe. In Casal di Principe, 1.700 orders for the demolition of illegal buildings have been registered, of which 250 have already been 'Resa', or in the Administrative Sanctions Execution Register. These are the data that emerged from the press conference called by Mayor Renato Natale, who today registered his resignation. The mayor had in fact asked the Prosecutor's Office for a 100-day extension before demolishing an illegal home with 4 minors inside, a request that was denied.

"We don't want to defend illegal building, but we also know the origins of the problem. Here, for 30 years, the only law to be respected was that of the bosses. We support the judiciary, but we have to find solutions, it is not possible to use demolition as the only tool to fight illegal building", has explained Christmas.

In recent years, the municipality of Casale has requested 1.600.000 euros in funding from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti to eliminate 11 of the 250 'Resa', "money that is not paid by the illegal operator, because only someone who is stupid can think that we can recover it from them, but is paid by the entire community, even those who are not at fault. It would therefore take 35 million to eliminate only the 250 Resa, without counting the other thousands of sentences", added the mayor at a press conference.
