castellabate. The project aimed at making the A. Carrano sports field in Santa Maria di Castellabate a multipurpose and more capacious facility was funded for half a million euros, thanks to the participation of the Municipality in the CONI “Sport and suburbs” call and following the publication yesterday of the ranking of the admitted projects.
The estimated amount of the expansion and adaptation works is approximately 690.000 euros, a sum that will be invested by intercepting these funds for 500.000 euros and co-financing the remaining part with various resources.
With the project, carried out in agreement with the S.S.D. Polisportiva S. Maria Cilento, energy efficiency improvements are expected with the construction of a 14,4 kWp photovoltaic system, improvements and extraordinary maintenance, the addition of the possibility of practicing other disciplines recognized by CONI on the pitch and with the purchase of specific equipment, the installation of prefabricated toilets for the public, in anticipation of new spectator seats, and additional changing rooms for the football school, as well as the strengthening of the lighting system of the playing field.
The Acting Mayor, Luisa Maiuri, declares: "Excellent news for local sport which, after the successes already achieved in the football sector, boasting a team in Serie D, can now, thanks to the implementation of these important interventions shared with the Polisportiva Santa Maria, continue the path already started of growth and general evolution of the Carrano sports structure".
The President of the Santa Maria Sports Club, Francesco Tavassi, adds: "With the approval of the project to adapt the Carrano stadium, through the Sport and Suburbs tender requested by the Government, carried out in agreement with the Municipality, we will be able to make the sports facility always more modern, efficient and multipurpose. This new commitment shared with the Municipality represents the natural evolution of a growth path, hand in hand with that of the team, for a sports facility that has always been a meeting place for generations of footballers and fans" .
