Dazn has had quite an impact. Using the term used by the streaming platform to apologize yesterday afternoon for the umpteenth disruptions that have affected subscribers, theCode association announces the start of a class action.
“It is not possible to go on like this – says Ivano Giacomelli, National Secretary of Codes –, a month has passed since the start of the Serie A championship, five matchdays have been played and subscribers still have to deal with Dazn's problems. With yesterday we can safely say that the limit has been crossed. Users were unable to watch the Sampdoria-Napoli and Torino-Lazio matches for about half an hour. The first half was practically skipped, with the platform being inaccessible.
It is yet another demonstration of a service that has so far been a disservice to many consumers. After denying for weeks the problems encountered by subscribers and reported by us, now Dazn is trying to save itself in the corner, announcing an unspecified compensation. That's not how it's done. Time is up, for weeks the streaming platform should have reimbursed users for the problems encountered, the sudden blackouts, the delay in transmission and buffering, just to name a few. We sent warnings to Dazn, they replied that for them everything was in order.
The reality, unfortunately, is different and this is why we have decided to start a class action not only for reimbursement, but also for compensation for the damages suffered by season ticket holders, who do not deserve such a service, especially after a month has passed since the start of the championship and a series of reminders have arrived from the authorities and institutions in order to improve the situation”.
Dazn subscribers who have had problems watching Serie A matches can send a report to the Codici association to request a refund and compensation for damages by calling 06.55.71.996 or writing to the email address segreteria.sportello@codici.org. On the website www.codici.org the class action membership form is also available.
