The Second Section of the Naples Court of Appeal sentenced Enrico Coscioni to two years of suspended prison for attempted and repeated domestic violence, aggravated by abuse of power.
For the former health advisor to the president of the Campania region, Vincenzo de Luca, the deputy attorney general Maria Di Addea had requested a 4-year sentence for the crime of attempted extortion and, alternatively, the requalification of the crime as attempted private violence.
Coscioni was involved in an investigation by the Naples prosecutor's office into the pressure exerted on three health managers to induce them to resign. In the first instance he was acquitted, with the formula "the fact does not exist", by panel C of the IV criminal section of the Court of Naples, with a verdict issued in December 2018. However, the prosecutor's office appealed the provision and then obtained the conviction of the defendant in the second instance.
