Naples, Conte becomes a 'superstar' in the Sanità district, amid applause and selfies, and even a timid protest.

This is how Giuseppe Conte, leader of the 5 Star Movement, was welcomed in Naples.

The former prime minister arrived shortly before midday at the Sanità district, where the presentation of the M5S list in support of Gaetano Manfredi for mayor, head of the centre-left coalition, was scheduled.

Upon his arrival, there were some timid protests from the 7 November unemployed movement (with delegates exchanging a few words with him), which had reserved the same welcome, a few minutes earlier, to the President of the Chamber Roberto Fico. And then applause, handshakes, selfies and expressions of esteem for the leader of the Five Star Movement.

A few words from the stage, very political, a few jabs at the Salvini-Meloni duo, and then the hug of the 200 or so people who came to listen to him. But above all to take a picture with him, like a 'superstar'. And then off to a walk in the historic Sanità neighborhood, that of the great Totò, one of the richest in recipients of citizen income. A walk through the alleys, with many citizens hunting for a selfie, some even too vehemently. Not before stopping to greet a newlywed couple who had just gotten married in the nearby church.

From the balconies there are those who cheer him, but also those who show the signs of a Maresca list. Conte greets him, then glosses over with a peremptory 'without controversy'. Walking through the neighborhood he visits the pizzeria Concettina ai tre santi, where he quickly ate a pizza, then stops at the famous pastry shop Poppella, to eat a local specialty.

There was also time for a quick visit to a bus, where he entered for a few seconds and greeted the driver. And more selfies and handshakes, some indications in the style of a municipal police officer to let the traffic flow, before the visit to the house of grandmother Giuseppa, 110 years old. To close the entrance, amid applause, in the Spagnuolo palace, welcomed by the candidates of the Movement. From the balcony of the historic building, together with Manfredi, he gave himself to photographers. In the afternoon the last stop was in Scampia.
