Bondholders of Deiulemar shipping company, the Torre del Greco company that went bankrupt in 2012, in the square.
Those defrauded by the bonds of the former shipping company (almost thirteen thousand people, over 720 million the total amount of damages) have in fact participated in a collection of signatures to ask for the discussion of the proposed law that aims to include Deiulemar creditors among the beneficiaries of the savers' compensation fund established to help investors in failed banks.
The M5S deputy Luigi Gallo put forward the bill: “My proposal – explains the parliamentarian – provides for the extension of the benefits guaranteed by the fund also to individual savers, with a simultaneous increase in resources if necessary”.
“With the collection of signatures to the President of the Chamber – concludes Gallo – we intend to push President Marattin to bring the proposal to the Finance Committee. The adhesion of other local political forces and of the president of the Torre del Greco city council is pleasing. Next week we will also ask the mayor of Ercolano to sign the petition''.
