De Luca: “In Campania, the vaccination situation is very good for high school students”

“The school year in person also opens on September 15th in Campania and we have an excellent situation regarding medical and hospital staff”.

The president of the Campania region said this Vincenzo De Luca, during a press conference in Salerno. “There is a very good situation for high schools where we are over 75% vaccinated but we need to make a greater effort for lower secondary schools” said the governor.

And then he added: “I think we are starting the school year, in mid-September, today, in serene conditions. We will proceed with molecular swabs in the sentinel classes and we will maintain a high level of attention and control. The situation, in any case, is incomparably better than a year ago. We must insist”.

De Luca: Government is good on extending green pass to schools and hospitals

“The government is making, for once, timely decisions: such as extending the green pass to all those entering schools and hospitals and places of assembly”.

“We are making a revolution, because we are facing the largest investment program in the hospital network that has ever occurred in Campania”.

“From the things we are illustrating in Naples, from the large regional pediatric center to the hospital network we are creating throughout the rest of the region, from Sessa Aurunca to Solofra, to Pozzuoli, Nola”, explains the President of the Region, highlighting that "the large new hospital that is being built in Salerno, the new Ruggi d'Aragona, will be the second hospital in the region, within the scope of an investment program of 1,3 billion euros for healthcare".

“Here we will finally build a spinal unit, as part of a public rehabilitation center, it is the only one we will have in the Campania region – he adds – this great project is combined with other investments that will be made in the hospital of Nocera Inferiore and Battipaglia. It is an extraordinary program of humanization of our health and completion of the health offer”. Compared to a year ago, today, “we present the definitive project” of the new Ruggi.

 “We have held the conference of services and we have acquired all the urban planning opinions. Therefore, today, we are fully in the executive phase. We will have the last administrative step in October. We have defined the hypotheses of new road network around the new hospital and we have also acquired, with the Railways, a new subway stop at the height of the new hospital that we are going to build.

At the end of the year, we will have the executive project and we will start the tender. From an administrative point of view, we have done a miracle”, he clarifies. “There is no one-year administrative procedure in Italy to build a hospital with 350 million investments and 750 beds,” De Luca reiterates.
