PonticelliThe area of the via Esopo overpass in the Ponticelli district of Naples has been transformed into an open-air landfill where various waste, hazardous materials, tires, bulky items, paint buckets and much more have been abandoned.
The situation was documented by the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli during an inspection on the morning of September 20.
“What we have documented is an ecological bomb harmful to the environment and to the citizens, we have requested clean-up interventions. The issue, however, must be addressed in a more general and incisive way by monitoring the areas most at risk and severely punishing the dumpers and polluters who are killing our land. It is time to take serious countermeasures.”-Borrelli's words
