An itinerary of discovery, the inspiration that leads from football to music, the historical and glorious story of Diego Armando Maradona as a springboard for an artistic, musical, human journey. This is the spirit of The Tango of Ten, the new short film by Tullius Emperor with music by Alberto Pizzo, coming out October 2021 on Vimeo.
One of the most active and appreciated Neapolitan filmmakers and the pianist/composer who from Tokyo carries the flag of Italian music high in the world have created an exciting and educational short, with the common thread of working on oneself to find one's place in the world.
A very Neapolitan partnership, which sees the director and the musician together, in an operation that goes beyond the logic of the video clip to enter the dynamics of the short, as Imperatore underlines: “We preferred to give the viewer a type of experience specific to the short film. In addition, it gave us the opportunity to tell a story in a form in which music and images accompany each other in perfect balance”. The images of Imperatore and the virtuoso piano tango of Pizzo tell the story of a Neapolitan teenager who discovers the legendary football champion, a powerful inspiration that will help him find his way. Once again, music is the emotional push to find one's own path: “Listening to Alberto Pizzo's music made me travel inside myself and rediscover a world of emotions and sensations that I tried to convey with El Tango del Diez, which invites you to look outside to see yourself inside. It invites you not to be afraid of being yourself, even if this means accepting being different from others".
