'Ethnos': International Festival of Ethnic Music

The 26th edition of Ethnos comes to life this weekend with three exclusive concerts. The international ethnic music festival conceived and directed by Gigi Di Luca, taking place in 5 municipalities of the Vesuvian area until September 26, 2021, welcomes the performances of Italian and international artists, from Spain, Portugal, France, Albania and Haiti, in some of the most fascinating and historic locations of the Golden Mile.

This weekend's program opens Friday September 17 at 21pm at Palace of Portici with the concert of the Mancuso Brothers, winners this year of the Tenco plate for the best album in dialect and the Loano Prize for their latest album, “Manzama".

Saturday 18rd September, instead, space for the Albanian singer and multi-instrumentalist Elina Duni, a new star of European jazz with four albums under his belt for ECM, the protagonist of a solo concert in Villa Vannucchi in San Giorgio a Cremano.

Finally, Sunday September 19 a Villa of the Brooms in Torre del Greco, in what was the home of Giacomo Leopardi, the unprecedented meeting between the Portuguese teams takes place Bitter Quartet and the singer and actress Monica Pinto. An original project commissioned by the festival, entitled “Passion and Saudade”, which fuses fado with Neapolitan tradition.

Among the artists expected at the festival: the queen of punky voodoo Moonlight Benjamin, the Irish sounds of the Birkin Tree, the travelling contemporary dance show “Popular Noble” with Ashay Lombardo Arop and Maristella Martella with live music by Lavinia Mancusi and the project "South of Bella Ciao” with Riccardo Tesi, Elena Ledda, Lucilla Galeazzi, Alessio Lega, Nado Citarella, Maurizio Geri, Gigi Biolcati and Claudio Carboni.

To attend the Ethnos 2021 shows, there is an entrance ticket with popular prices of 5 and 10 euros, which reflect the desire for a festival accessible to all. Access to the concerts is allowed to spectators in possession of the Green Pass or with a negative swab performed no later than 48 hours before the event.
