With the support of the Department of Interethnic Relations of the Government of Romania, the Tatar Democratic Union held the 5th SABANTOI Festival, an intercultural and interethnic event sharing music, dance, games, sports, and gastronomy for dialogue between different peoples.
SABANTOI 2021, held in the Constanta region, was a great success with the public and saw the official participation of 36 countries. The speech of the Secretary of State Demeter Andras Istvan, who highlighted the positive model of harmony and coexistence of the Tatar culture, was highly appreciated in the opening ceremony.
The Festival presented the performances of numerous artists from many countries, such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Moldova-Gaganzia, Italy, Turkey and of course Romania. The audience of traditional sports, a UNESCO heritage (Mangalia, Kuresi), was very rich, exalted by the special message of the Minister of Sport and Youth of the Romanian Government Eduard Novak. Particularly significant was the fact that the 1st World Congress to unite the different styles of Kures was held in Constanta, on the initiative of the President UDT Naim Belgin. The representatives of the 36 participating countries approved and signed the Charter of Rules of the BWA, Bellash World Association, with the delegation of Romania elected to the Executive Committee. Komil Yusupov was elected President of the Executive Committee, Vice President Naim Belgin.
President Naim Belgin expressed his great satisfaction with the results achieved by SABANTOI 2021, which made a valuable contribution to the promotion of Turkish-Tatar ethnic culture and the positive value of diversity in relationships of sharing and integration between peoples.
