The jury, composed of independent booksellers, recognized the extraordinary value of the text, but given the original style of the work not possible to classify in any of the categories provided, decided to award a Special Award of the Stall a Filippo Cannizzo for the book “Tears of Kindness: On the Trail of Beauty for a Human (Re)generation".
In the opinion of the booksellers present in the jury, sensitive and attentive interpreters of the vast public of readers, the book by the philosopher Filippo Cannizzo, published three years after the sensational editorial success of “Crumbs of beauty”, represents a unique piece in the Italian literary panorama of recent years thanks to which it has achieved clear success in terms of merit and public recognition.
“Tears of Kindness” is a story set in the heart of Italy and inspired by the desire to identify the potential, inherent in every corner of our country, for human regeneration. In the volume, elaborated with an unmistakable style in which the scientific essay merges with the story, the author aims to indicate a possible path to follow to give a future to the Bel Paese, the path traced by kindness and beauty.
The author's words are a cry of hope for Italy, a stimulus not to give up even in moments when every belief and every certainty around people seems to collapse. "Tears of Kindness. On the Trail of Beauty for a Human (Re)generation" is a book dedicated to those who, starting from their own municipality, from the fragment of the Italian territory in which they live, from the piece of the world that surrounds them - a large city or a small village, a coastal or mountainous area, an island or a countryside area - want to build another possible future
Filippo Cannizzo is a philosopher and university researcher. He taught in Bologna, Naples, Rome and, after collaborating with the Luigi Sturzo Institute and the Ugo Spirito Foundation, he directed the ICC Castelli. Among the promoters of the international event “The Economy of Francesco”, he was a tutor at the “XIII UNESCO Creative Cities Conference Fabriano 2019” and coordinated the initiatives of ResiliArt Italy: Bellezza di Unesco.
The book, published by GSM- Punto Rosso (and published simultaneously in Italy, Albania and Switzerland), is completely eco-sustainable as it is the first to be printed entirely in hemp and recycled paper in our country. The promotional tour of the book began a few weeks ago, which will lead the author to present “Tears of Kindness” in initiatives organized throughout the Peninsula, from North to South, including the islands.
