"With this Festival -he said Giovanni Cafiero, President of the Aeneas Route Association- we celebrate, in a place that is a symbol of the Mediterranean roots of Europe, the recognition of the Aeneas Route as a European cultural itinerary. Cuma is the first Greek city in Italy and the Campi Flegrei and the Bay of Naples are the scene of that mixture of cultures that is the basis of European civilization. The collaboration with the Archaeological Park of the Campi Flegrei represents a successful example of cooperation between a transnational itinerary and territorial institutions for the enhancement of cultural heritage. It is a model that we are developing in different geographical contexts."
